Symposium 2019 Overall Report

Introduction
Background and objective of the Meeting

On February 23rd a symposium was convened at MIET Engineering College, Trichy. The symposium was presided over by our Honorable Chairman and inaugurated by Mr.V.Ramachandran, General Manager, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Ltd, Trichy. The event was hosted by the students of Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE and Mechanical Engineering departments, who invited students from various Engineering Colleges all over India. Around 400 students participated in the events conducted by the departments.

The main objective of this symposium was to get acquainted with other college students, to exchange ideas, and to learn new methods and techniques of investigation and production. By organizing this function the management and communication skills of the students was also improved.

Inauguration

 The inaugural function started with a Qirath by Mr.J.Mohamed Aslam, Electrical and Electronics Engineering student. A warm welcome by Shameer  Ahamed M , III year, Civil Engineering, geared up the function to a start. The college Principal, Dr.X.Susan Christina and the Director Dr.S.Karthikeyan felicitated the gathering. The former advised the students to enrich their knowledge from the information center –“The library and the director complimented the students for their organizing and managerial skills. Our Chairman briefed about the importance of conducting the symposium and its effectiveness in the student’s development.Our guest of Honor paved a route for the student’s future by signifying the industries expectations from fresher’s. A souvenir entitled “ Symposium ’19, comprising of the activities of the symposium was released by our Honorable Chairman. Mr.B.Abdul Ajees of Civil Engineering, Mr.K.Maheshwaran of Mechanical Engineering, Ms.S.Shahana Begam of EEE, Mr.B.Joshua Francis Of ECE and Ms.R.Karishma of CSE represented their departments to deliver their annual academic and non academic achievements for the year 2017-2018, to the gathering.

Department events

Civil Engineering

CIVILCENTRINO ’19 in association with CESA was organized at A-Block, MIET Engg College. Mr.N.Ilavarasan. Professor, University College of Engineering, BIT campus, consented to be the judge for paper presentation and to distribute the prizes for the winners. Around 60 students from various colleges participated in the events conducted and won many prizes. The participants appreciated the MIET student’s cooperation and hospitality. Mechanical Engineering

          YANTRA M’19 in association with MESA was organized at C-Block Auditorium, MIET Engg College. Dr.D.Nagarathinam Principal, Theni Kammavar Sangam College of Technology consented to be the judge for paper presentation and to distribute the prizes for the winners. Around 75 students from various colleges participated in the events conducted and won many prizes. They were extremely happy by the hospitality given to them. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

E3SPARTA ’19 in association with TESLA was organized at Training and Placement main hall. Dr.H.Habeebullah Sait and Dr.P.Vijayarajan, University College of Engineering, BIT campus, consented to be the judge for paper presentation and to distribute the prizes for the winners. The participants were very happy to gain a lot of information through paper presentations and other events. The details of the events and it participants is available in the department website.

Electronics and Communication Engineering

MILANTRONIKZ,19  in association with IETE was organized at Seminar hall Training and Placement department. Dr.C.Vennila ,Professor, Saranathan College of Engineering, consented to be the judge for paper presentation and to distribute the prizes for the winners. The participants enjoyed all the events and were happy and satisfied at the end of the day. The details of the events and it participants is available in the department website.           

Computer Science Engineering

TISCA ’19 in association with TISCA was organized at C-block Seminar hall. Dr.Rajbabu, Deputy Manager, BHEL, Trichy consented to be the judge for paper presentation and to distribute the prizes for the winners. Around 70 students from various colleges participated in the events conducted and won many prizes. The participants appreciated the helping tendency of the students and the faculty. Conclusion:

The whole campus was filled with an air of excitement during the day of the symposium on 23.02.209. One full month of preparation by the faculty and students ended its victory line at 4.30 PM on 23.02.209. High cooperation from the faculty and students of all departments made this symposium a great success. The coordinators of Symposium’19 thank the Management and Principal for giving us this opportunity.
