  • Drive The Future With Bio Sensors & Bio Electronics - 08 - 03 - 2019

An International Seminar was held on “Drive The Future With Bio Sensors & Bio Electronics” on 08th March 2019. It was jointly organized by Department of ECE, EEE and IETE students ‘Chapter.Prof.Y.Takemura (Yokohama National University, Japan) and Dr.S.Ota (Shizuoka University, Japan), the guest of honor, delivered chief guest address.During forenoon session, Prof.Y.Takemura, illustrated treatment of cancer cells without surgery, the depicted that by inserting tiny resonant circuit in the cancer affected cells and exposing them to electromagnetic radiation, generates heat there by destroying the cancer affected cells, even without operating human body. Apart from this the enumerated recent imaging techniques, such as MPI (Magnetic Particle Imaging), MRI and concept behind the operation.Afternoon session was handled by Dr.V.R.Dhulipala, Assistant professor, University college of Engineering, BIT Campus, Trichy. He elucidated the concept of biosensors, various challenges posed in the implementation and possible solutions to such challenges.

  • ONE DAY GUEST LECTURE - 14/07/2018

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, M.I.E.T. Engineering College, Trichy has organized a Guest Lecture on “RF Nanotechnology –Perspectives of Carbon Nano Science and Technology ” on 14-07-2018 for the final  year ECE Students in the seminar hall at 11.30a.m.Dr.S.Anand,M Tech,Ph.d., Associate Professor, VIT, Vellore, wasthe key note speaker for the session.

Dr.S.Anand illustrated on Bio-sensors Used in cancer diagnosis, Bio-sensors fabrication & micro fluidic devices. The Guest of honor also described the SRR based Glucose sensors and how it is used in hospitals for diagnosis.  He discussed the limitations of bio-sensors and how to overcome these limitations. He created awareness among students that using dual sim mobile phones and frequent Wi-Fi usage causes cancer. But the young generation people are fond of camera clarity and many other features. The important thing is to check the SRA (Specific Rate Absorption) value. It is better to use the phones which have low SRA value. He presented his views on vascular impedance assessment that is based on LASER DOPPLER EFFECT which is used to diagnose the functioning of heart and notifies the person if there are any symptoms of heart diseases. This technology is useful to prevent heart diseases in advance. This program was very helpful for the students to gain knowledge beyond the syllabus. And they got awareness about the cancer, how they are caused, diagnosed and measures to prevent. He also advised the students to avoid the usage of white sugar and drinking carbonated drinks. In this occasion Our Chairman Er.A.Mohamed Yunus and Principal Dr.X.Susan Christina felicitated the gathering.
